๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿงก❤๐Ÿ’œ

Hi there,
I got to looking at my posting schedule and did not realize that I hadn't even put one single post up for this month yet. What a shame. Although my main accomplishments have been to finish rereading book one in game of thrones and finding/watching the les miserables movie. Now that I've seen it, I can somewhat understand the book better and can now maybe finish. I do not normally do that but I was having a hard time getting into the book, seeing as how it is freaking huge, and so this one time I made an exception.
Currently I'm participating in three readathons, the grinchathon is one and very merry readathon is two and #currentathon is number three. So far I'm loving these readathons and am reading the same book for all three. That is how laid back they are.  The book is city of glass by Cassandra clare. I'll post a review on it later on.
For now happy reading and happy holidays

bookmarks

I'm curious as to what you all use for bookmarks. Do you use standard or does anything goes?
As for me, I've used anything and everything I can find. Especially when my kids need something right quick like and then it's back to reading. I also carry a book everywhere so sometimes I forget to grab a bookmark or have to temporarily use something else for one. So, I'm curious as to what you use? And do you fold corners of the pages of your books or are you against that? Let me know in the comments below

howdy howdy howdy

Ok, I believe I've gotten my slump figured out now. I'm just trying to struggle thru both Les miserables by Victor Hugo and The phantom of the opera by Gaston Leroux (sorry if I misspelled it) but the two books just are not doing it for me. To get thru them I am having to listen to them on audio thru the castbox (which you can download for free thru Google playstore) and that has made it a bit easier.
What are you all reading? Let me know in the comments below

my first book...

Ok, this is my first book ever by this author. I've spent the evening searching reviews on both goodreads and on booktube. So far, people have either been anticipating this or they want about it. It still has like a four out of five star rating on goodreads though so that's pretty good I'd say.
If you enjoyed or hated it then let me know in the comments or on twitter (@lcraven430)
Happy reading

Ok....

Ok, I know I  said that I would be doing a series read-a-thon sort of thing but my current situation has me all confused and in a slump. I want to reread books but I also want to buy the new ones that I do not have yet that booktube has been buzzing over. So when I make up my.mind, I'll let you know.

Series.....

I think that I'm going to start this read-a-thon where I read all my series from start to finish. I do have a lot of series by a few different authors. Some that have not been read in months. Some I want to reread to see if my opinion of them change. And most of them, I have not read in order, one right after the other. Some of the series I have are:
-game of thrones
-harry potter
-hannah swenson
-temperance brennan
-pretty little liars
-dark hunter
-carpathian
-drake sisters
-sisters of the heart
-leopard
-shadow rider
-ghostwalker
-torpedo ink
-argeanu
-to die
-virgin river
-dark witch
-love comes softly
-key
-born in

Just to name a few of them 😉
If you have any of these series, when I start them I will let you know and you can join me. We'll chat on Twitter.

Reading slump?

Have you not picked up a book in a few days?
When was the last time you bought a book?
If you can't remember then you probably forgot and are possibly in a book slump like me.
Don't worry! It happens to everyone once in awhile.
If you read long enough, then it can happen to you. I have loved reading since I was a kid and now I guess it is my turn. just take it one day at a time and you can get thru it as well.

Update!

Since toxic game, I have been slowly making my way thru the mortal instruments series. Currently on city of ashes at the moment. But when I have had too much of vampires and such, I picked up One Of Us Is Lying. And I am over halfway with it. I did finish Runaway Vampire though. I give that one points due to the characters getting together after she damn near killed the guy by running over him with her RV. And yes, I did mention the getting tired of vampires but the way Lynsay Sands explains them.....they are more like science experiments gone wrong then the cold, heartless brooding type. They are actually funny and have personalities.
Right now I am participating in the series crackdown and DEAReadathon hosted on Twitter.  These readathons have kept me in the mood for reading whereas I've mostly wanted to pick up my knitting and crochet. Anyways, more updates later on as days go on.

Toxic Game

This book was amazing. Shylah and Draden were the absolute picture of calm even when they realized they had gotten infected by the virus. I still do not like Dr. Whitney or anything he has done to those poor women and the soldiers. Scary thing is that there are people capable of doing all of this.....just look at the Ebola virus which is used as the example in the book as well. It is insane and scary at the same time.

Latest update

The only thing I have to update you all on is the fact that I have no internet currently and that I am currently reading two books. Toxic game by christine feehan and city of bones by Cassandra clare . So maybe by the time the internet comes back on I will have something to update you on.
Be patient!

Love & Luck

Where do I start?
Strong female characters✔
Envious of family relationships✔
Roadtrip vibes✔
A wish to visit Ireland ✔
Strong recommendation as a summer read✔

I also encourage you to pick up Love & Gelato first because it definitely ties in with this one. But I just loved these two books. Perfect antidote for a reading slump. I can promise you that!

Hi there

I have been in sort of a reading slump. The fact that it has taken me two months to finish In the company of soldiers really says a lot.  But I will say that I believe my slump is almost over because I started crimes of Grindewald early, early this morning and I finished the book by at least six am. Let me just say that I cannot wait for book three.
I don't want to spoil anything for those who have not read the book yet. If you haven't picked it up then I suggest you go do so now. Along with the first book Fantastic beasts and where to find them. You will not be disappointed,my friend.

Sorry,sorry

Where in the hell has the time gone? I have not updated any at all this month and that is just freaking CRAZY!!
But honesty, there is no update available unless you count this major slump that I am in right now. Still trying to decide whether to blame it on The Book Thief or if it was just bound to happen to me eventually. I've been loving books for 28 years now so it was bound😉 to happen eventually.
I will update when there is more to update about. Bye for now

Book Confession time!

What book was awful that you would turn it into confetti?

For me, it would be fifty shades of grey. I read it due to popular opinions and let's just say that never again will I do that. My book experiences seem to fall better if I pick it out myself and ignore the popular opinions on them. I feel this way over A Court Of Thorns And Roses as well. It was yet another popular read and I went along with it. Regret it very much. I actually gave away my copy of the series to a cousin.
Let me know what your book of choice would be for confetti.

*I do not promote the harming of books, this is just a discussion!

Superman dawnbreaker

Ok, the last books finished were superman dawnbreaker and Mary Poppins.  Haven't been reading very much as of late. Been more into my crochet then my reading which is unusual for me. But Superman was good. It's my first superman book ever so I guess I'm being biased. But I adore the Mary Poppins movie and I seriously want to see the new one so I had to have the book. Now that I know it's a series, I'll be trying to obtain the rest. I kid you not, most of my collection consists of series.

The tattooist of Auschwitz

Hi!
Ready for a book review?
I just finished this book called the tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris. It sparked my interest due to the name of the book more then anything else. But when I picked it up....I just could not put it down. The detailing of the main character and what he did was just so amazing. The romance was also surprising yet delightful at the same time. This book is based on an actual man called Lale and he unfortunately died back in 2006. In the back of the book has a few more details about him and three pictures of him and the woman who was the love interest within the story.
This story really hit me because I have family that were alive during that time period so anything I can get set during that period really interests me.
I will definitely recommend this book to everyone I can tell it to.

Oh hi!

Ok, it has been a crazy few days but I am still here. I finished the one book I was reading leopard's run by christine feehan and now I'm onto vegeance road by her and listening to the audiobook for Anna karenina.
Not that far into vengeance road yet and audiobooks are kind of difficult with having small children around but I manage at least a few chapters at a time. Plus this is the first audiobook that I have ever actually listened to. I know, no judging. But I had always thought them to be the lazy way if reading since someone is actually doing the reading for you but that is slowly changing, I promise.
Also I will be posting more so let me know what you want to read about!

Nostalgic Reading

Do any of you ever have those few books that made you fall in love with reading? You just can't quite let go of them because what if you want to read them again? I know I have some that are like this. I have at least one babysitter's club books, a few dr. Seuss books and some that I had purchased at school book fairs. Lucky thing is too that I held onto my Dr. Seuss books because my children are in the early stages of learning to read. I am hoping that they pick up my love for reading but so far it does not look like they will. That might change when they get a little older but for now, I'll just settle for teaching them the wonders of reading and let them decide on it.
What are some of your favorite nostalgic books that you have held onto? Let me know down in the comments

Why love reading?

Why does everyone seem to love reading? Why do you like to read so much? How can you not find reading to be boring?

These are just some of the questions that I hear when people find out that I love reading. To me, Reading has always been there thru everything in my life. From being bullied in school, fake friends, leaving school, having kids, getting married, all the way up to this very moment.....books have just been the one constant in my life that can always be counted on to be there. My bookshelf was given to me by a very special person in my life who is no longer with me. So I feel like my books being on that particular shelf holds that much more specialness.
Reading can also take you places without you even actually going anywhere. I am currently reading a book that is currently set in Japan. Books can take you places and be the very best friends that you can have. All while being just there. My books have survived at least four home moves and some of the books have been with me since I was a little girl. Some of them are books that I can remember my mom reading to me.
Another thing about books is that everyone has a different story about how they fell in love with reading. Some have always loved it as I have and some learned to love it later on. It's hard for me to talk about books unless I'm blogging about it because most of the people in my family do not like to read or if they read then the genres do not match up.  Its partly why I started this blog 🙂

But let me know what books you like and feel free to tell me what got you into reading and what your fave genres are...I would love to hear from you! ❤

Audiobooks

I have nothing against people that want to listen to audiobooks. I have just now gotten fond of them myself. Before, though, I always thought it was cheating in a way because someone else is basically reading the book to you. I now have an app on my galaxy s9 called castbox which is a free app for both podcasts and audiobooks. I also just now started listening to podcasts as well. Both are helpful when you are very busy or are a mother of children. I am a mother and sometimes reading doesn't happen for me. So I found that audiobooks are helpful in that respect. So far, I only download free books because I am broke as hell right now. But maybe that will change someday....hopefully soon.
If you do like audiobooks and have some on your device, whatever that may be, let me know in the comments what they are and what you think of them.

Konmarie

All I've been hearing about is the konmarie method and that is good and all but I personally think that if all my books make me happy then I am going to keep them. Thanking your things that work hard for you is a great thing to do. I highly suggest everyone do so.

Resolutions

This year I want to tackle my tbr piles. They are four stacks of books sitting on the table by my couch. It has gotten ridiculous. My book buying has gotten out of control whereas my book reading has went dry. I've been paying more attention to my knitting and crochet more so then my reading. It has gotten really sad. So this year, I want to read through at least one if not two stacks. I also want to control my knit/crochet projects but that's a different post for a different blog. Comment and let me know your bookish resolutions!
